Planting

Today students planted marigold seeds.  They were excited to see the shape of the seed and get their hands dirty!

*We are in need of empty cereal boxes for our series writing.  Please send in any boxes you may have.

*Our field trip to Old York was great! The students enjoyed learning about life in the past.

*We have some special days coming up!  More details to follow closer to the events.

May 16


*The character parade was a huge success!  The students’ costumes were great and they all did a wonderful job playing the part of their character.

*We have our class field trip to Old York this Thursday, May 19. 

*Students have begun developing their own characters in writing.  Over the next few weeks they will be creating chapter books with their characters!

*In Art last week Ms. Donovan took advantage of the great weather and used chalk pastel out in the courtyard to re-create works of some of the master painters we have been studying.  The students worked in teams, and focused on communicating and cooperating with each other.


Polygons


We are continuing our study of polygons. 
Students are working on identifying defining and non defining attributes of polygons.

May 2

*Students will be studying a book character this week in class.  We will be discussing character traits and reading more and more about our characters.

*On Friday May 13, at 10:30 a.m., we will be having a character parade in front of the school. More information will be sent home soon!

*We will begin studying Geometry in math. Students will be exploring attributes.
