December 14

*The Winter Concert was a great success! It was so nice to see all of your families.  My daughter had a great time singing and dancing along with the students.   

*We are in need of marshmallows and toothpicks for a winter animal project.  If you would like to donate a bag or box to our class, please send it in with your student by Thursday. 

*We have been working on non-fiction reading and writing.  Please check your child's red folder for a picture of “How to Get Super Smart about Nonfiction Topics”

December 7

*The Winter Concert is coming up on December 10.  Our students have been practicing hard for it in Music class.  We look forward to seeing you all there. 

*There is no math homework on Thursday night due to the concert

*We are beginning to study animals in winter.  We will be using the words migrate and hibernate when talking about different animals.

November 16

*We have been studying the Mayflower and discussing the voyage the Pilgrims made.  We discussed the difference between Christopher Columbus’s trip in 1492 and the Pilgrims in 1620.

*There is no school next week.  Happy Thanksgiving!

November 9

*We are starting Unit 3 in Math on Monday.  Please continue to practice +1, +2, -1, -2 facts at home, as well as facts to and from 10.

*The November book order is due November 20.  If you would like to order any books as presents for your students, please send me an email after you’ve placed your order and I will hold the books aside for you to pick up. 

*There is no school on Wednesday. Thank you to all of the Veterans!

*We are beginning to study Early Settlers, Native Americans, and Thanksgiving in our classroom.
