Guests and Market Day

We had some special guests visit our classroom during the month of March to celebrate Dr. Seuss.

Our second grade hosted a Market Day! Students developed a product to sell, set prices, and bought and sold goods during our market day.

Science and Math

Students have been studying erosion in science.  This past week students had to answer the question "How can you stop a landslide?"

Students created math board games.  Their games needed to include at least 10 double or triple digit addition equations, an obstacle and written instructions.  Students played their games with two other second grade classrooms.

Measuring Fun

Students measured the distance from our classroom to the gym.

Students worked with partners to create "water slides" for the local water park. The students needed to make their marble shoot 58 inches total with at least 4 angles.  Each group came up with a system to track the length of each section of their slide and total the inches.  The students used perseverance, resilience, and flexibility!

Film Festival

Our Non-Fiction Film Festival was a huge success! Thank you to all of the parents and family members who were able to attend our premier!

Nonfiction Musuem

Today we celebrated the end of our Becoming Experts Unit with a Nonfiction Museum! Mrs. Dunham's class and Mrs. Currier's class joined us in setting up a museum in the gym.  Students shared their knowledge of the topics they have been reading about with staff and students.
